VIDEO: Interviews With Danny Boyle, Rosario Dawson & Vincent Cassel for TRANCE
Danny Boyle is one of those directors that when you see his name attached to a film, you know that it’s going to be great. He’s made Trainspotting, 127 Hours and oh yeah, he won an Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire. Not a bad resume, and that’s just a small portion of it. With his new movie Trance (in theaters in Cleveland on April 12) he has done it again.
Trance starts off as a heist film, with Simon, an art dealer played by James McAvoy, in on a plan to steal a multi-million dollar painting from the auction house he works for. But during the course of the robbery, he gets hit in the head and can’t remember where he hid it. He enlists the help of a hypnotist named Elizabeth (Rosario Dawson), to try to get his memory back. As the movie goes on, we begin to see that not everyone is who they seem to be on the surface.
The film is brilliant with a mind-bending story that keeps you guessing until the very end, making you question who and what to believe. In vintage Danny Boyle fashion, he uses beautiful imagery and has a heart pumping score with original music by Rick Smith.
